Deepa Saharia,
​MSW Intern

Deepa Saharia (they/she) is an MSW candidate at the Smith College School for Social Work and they have a Bachelors of Science from Cornell University. Deepa is a queer New Yorker living in Massachusetts.She identifies as a white-passing South Asian person who speaks English, Hindi, and basic Spanish. Deepa grounds her work in intersectional, decolonial, and abolitionist politics using relational psychodynamic frameworks. Emphasizing Liberation Health Psychology, they create a non-judgemental and collaborative therapeutic environment. She will support you to identify your strengths and process the challenges and changes in your life. They enjoy working with queer, gender expansive, disabled, neurodiverse, and BIPOC clients. She prioritizes client self-determination, anti-racism, disability justice, fat liberation, and gender justice in processing a variety of issues. They have extensive training working with children, adolescents, and families on areas ranging from anxiety, depression, disordered eating, gender/sexuality, substance use, trauma, family separation, immigration trauma, incarceration, and experiences of discrimination.
